“Aperta” (Latin for “open”) represents Octavia Romano’s first statement as a solo artist, condensing years of experience as a working musician. “Aperta” is about exposing the beautiful, the ugly, the raw emotions and honest thoughts: it is an open door to a new and unexplored creative path and artistic identity.

 

 

ABOUT

Octavia Romano is a composer, guitarist and singer originally from Córdoba, Argentina. She relocated to New York City in 2011 and quickly got immersed in the downtown scene, playing in several bands at renowned stages including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Webster Hall. Besides working as a touring musician, she has written electro-acoustic and experimental pieces, chamber music and film scores, and her work as a composer has been awarded by the ASCAP Foundation. In 2016, she released her first album, “Compass”, a collaborative project with saxophonist and singer Stephanie Chou.
